Dream Fencing Club achieves best results in the world’s largest fencing competition for kids

Fencing team lined up on stageWe are proud to announce that our fencers Sameer Sunder-Rajan finished 2nd and Aleksey Choi finished 7th in the boys U11 category at the premier world youth fencing competition, The Challenge Wratislavia, in Wroclaw, Poland on 24 March 2017.
The results are remarkable as there were 153 fencers from 60 countries. Additionally, our fencers are recently 10 and 9 years of age, respectively, and this is their first year fencing in the upper age group, U11. Also in Wroclaw, our fencers beat out competitors from strong fencing nations such as Ukraine, Romania, Germany and Poland.
Dream Fencing Team with their diplomasFollowing Yosif’s coaching instructions, Sameer won the silver medal in the general ranking. He fenced the final round where he lost 7-8 (by just one fencing touche), and Alyosha finished in 7th place, losing in the quarter finals to his mate from Dream Fencing Club, Sameer.
We are proud that this achievement is the best GBR result and best club result at the competition.
Good luck to both young fencing stars at the National competition on 9th April.
